Choosing a Canvas Print Company

After researching the companies offering giclee canvas printing and going over the criteria mentioned in the previous page, it is time to make contact. Initial contact will probably be with a salesperson by e-mail or phone. Do not waste time and ask direct questions: what printers are used? What brands of canvas, paper and inks? Is it possible to speak to the the printmaker?

If you have imaging skills, do not be afraid to test the knowledge of the people on the other end. Even the look and content of a canvas print company's web site can tell a lot about the product being offered. Is the company catering to families wanting to print photos on canvas of their loved ones? Is the look of the site done in the pleasing way? Although not a rule, but if a company cannot display a good looking site, it shows no artistic or design skill.

Because we are proud to offer the very best; printers who simply mention they have "matte canvas" or "glossy canvas" could be using cheap materials available from third world countries and literally one third the cost of what we offer.

We may be losing some sales but in the end we know our customers will not be calling in six months wondering why their canvas is cracking or why the same giclee they ordered a couple of months ago and reordered now is not the same color.
