As we mentioned in the canvas and paper file specs guide, we accept jpegs, psd and tiff files. Do not send pdf files. If there are text layers, they need to be flattened. Unless you feel it is necessary to keep adjustment layers, flatten all files in Photoshop to reduce upload sizes.
Sizing files for canvas printing is very important. We often receive uploads specifying i.e. 20X30" print size when in fact the image size is 21X30". We cannot print a 21X30" as a 20X30" without cropping.
Regarding sizing, make sure the file specifications are correct: Do not upload a file at i.e. 75 PPI @ 30X40" when the desired canvas print size is 15X20". Although we can easily resize, this creates a delay and unnecessary e-mails and/or calls to make sure of the final print size. In Photoshop go to Image > Image size and check the dimension and resolution. If interpolation (Boosting image resolution) is necessary, let us take care of it; we have a proven methodology to maximize sizes for canvas printing.
Keep in mind it is not feasible to interpolate more than 200% without a significant quality loss. We open and view all files to make sure there is enough resolution to go ahead.
It is OK to send tiffs in compressed with LZW and jpegs saved at high quality settings. Finally, as we mentioned throughout the web site, our preferred color space is Adobe RGB 1998. If unsure of the color space, upload anyway. We will convert files in house. |
