Generally speaking, if reproducing art, stick with a substrate similar to the original. Work within your means, but try to get as close to the original materials as possible. A watercolor art piece should be reproduced on a giclee watercolor paper. Oil on canvas should be made on an inkjet canvas.

Black and white images in particular are a perfect match for the pure cotton papers and achieve blacks often surpassing silver gelatin.
